We are downward to Hawaii for Christmas. Some friends there would like for us to bring a little Florida beach sand to her, approximately 5 lbs. Will the TSA allow this to go in the luggage below?

You won't have a poser with TSA but you may have a problem with the USDA when you arrive in Hawaii. Hawaii has very strict agriculture rules and laws that prohibit predictable things to arrive in Hawaii without being inspected. I haven't brought 5pounds but as extended as you put it in your checked luggage(underneath), I don't think they will have a problem. GE deep fryer with bad wiring?
I purchased a GE deep fryer (model # 168952) from Walmart a few years ago and I second-hand it on Saturday night, and walked away for a few minutes, then came running back to it when I smelled something other that food cooking. The item was pouring black smoke out of the back!!! I took it outside to let it cool and when I brought it back inside and took the back envelop off I noticed that the wire that leads from the overload (which ovbiously failed!!) to the element had melted all the insulation off of it. The unallied that comes back from the element shows signs of being overheated as well. What I need to know is if any of you people have experienced the same thing. My nurse had one that did exactly the same thing a few months ago. Is it just me, or should the overload trip BEFORE the wire melts?? Or is it designed to trip after the item catches on fire and melts into a big pile of goo on your counter, after it catches the kitchen on fire!! I called Walmart and (of course) they told me that it's out of warrant and they couldn't do anything about it. I asked them if it had been recalled, they said, "No." In my opinion, it seems like they really don't care that it could have started a fire and burned my abode to the ground. I've emailed walmart as well and I guess I'll have to wait and see what they say. I actually emailed the GE-Walmart division. I tried to reflect one directly to GE, but all the small appliances are sold exclusively through Wal-mart. Just go to website for GE...reflect an email ( complaint ) to the Customer Serv Dept....let them know what has happened and ask if they will do anything to help you. They may have had other complaints...but not enough for a full recall...you squawk might be enough when added to others.
Is it the stainless steel one?? I bought one from Walmart here in Canada.. used it once or twice and the last time.. I place it on the top of my stove and use the chew on the stove. It melted the plug right off the deep fryer.. not to mention ruined the outlet on my stove... it has black melted flexible in it.. and it blew the fuse out of the stove.. Could of been alot worse like a fire or something.. I emailed Walmart and they told me to bring it back source it was only a month or so since i purchased it.. I never did.. just threw it out.. I had a Tfal one before and it lasted for 13 years.. I'll never buy another GE appliance again..... let me separate what happens... I Have a C5180 photosmart printer-HP. My new laptop is an HP with Window vistas. I installed the printer drivers and everything works sunny, but if i take the usb of the printer out of the port , when i come to put it in again, I have to go through the whole procedure of loading the print drivers as it doesn't recognise it. Why does it do this??
use the same usb port cuz if you plug it into a sundry one windows has to relocate the hardware to re-install the software
HP printers always make you do that. They have never tried to make a fix for that error even though they are a gaiety company.
snap, i had the exact same problem with my hp photosmart C4180 and have vista. I asked a local computer technician and he advised me to uninstall the printer and then re-instal when the printer is not plugged into the laptop, and now it works fine, hope I've helped. xxx
Try unpluging the printer when you shut off the laptop after you have done with it then remember to advertisement it back in before turning on and it should work fine.

hey ppl i have a viewsonic 22" LCD VX2245WM. i have connected it to my XFX 8600GT (512 MB ddr2) postal card through a DVI cable...my question is wheni go to the nvidia control panel it shows me the option to change it to 1080p mode but once i reversal it and close it and then open it again it tells me that its still on non-HD format. also can anyone explain how the nvidia purevideo works?? thanx well my resolve is 1680x1050...i guess thats no 1080p....hmmm do no HD for me??
I think the problem is that you dont have a HD tape card but the driver has a HD option setting so it will not switch to HD mode. Check your graphic card manual or box to see if it supports HD.
If you have the settings set to HD glass...who cares what is says...that is HD. What exactly are your video settings? The last number must be x1080 or higher.

I Need Help At once! Please I have a Sony KDF-E50A10, the worst TV on this planet So, the bottom turned red, I pulled out the light engine and cleaned the main big class lens. It worked. However, now there was a downcast and green bar on the bottom and the top was turning red. So I pulled out the light engine and tried cleaning each of the three films, the rgb on each side of the big glass lens. I put it all back together, and now, my whole tv is intense green, and the spit is projected lower than the tv screen leaving an empty black bar on top! I did not use any chemicals, so I couldn't have removed any special layers on the three lenses. Can someone announce me what to do next? I cannot afford a repair right now. Why can't I convert podcast videos for the iPod touch anymore? Before the recent update of iTunes you could right-click certain video podcasts that weren't ready for the iPod and convert them. Now when you right snap them it only gives you the option to convert them for apple TV, when it used to give you both options (apple TV and iPod touch/iPhone). Does anyone know why this is? My parents had one and it didn't get the best of gas mileage. I urge you research the Specs. They're good for winter and not for summer! Especially when gas prices are this high. You might want to consider something that doesn't damage $70 to fill!
