May you take beach sand in your luggage on airplane from florida to hawaii?
We are downward to Hawaii for Christmas. Some friends there would like for us to bring a little Florida beach sand to her, approximately 5 lbs. Will the TSA allow this to go in the luggage below?
It is just sand, I don't see why not. As long as it is not on carry on luggae you should be fine.
No you can't bring it in your luggage, but you can bring it in your shoes!
Not a porblem
You won't have a poser with TSA but you may have a problem with the USDA when you arrive in Hawaii. Hawaii has very strict agriculture rules and laws that prohibit predictable things to arrive in Hawaii without being inspected. Such as fruits, vegetables, plants, soil and sand as they may contain scathing things for Hawaii's environment.
it shouldn't be a problem
They might mistake it for gun powder and tase you, just don't yell " DON'T TASE ME BRO!"
I believe so, if you have it in a plastic baggie so that it doesn't leak out of your bag and cause alarm resulting in a search of the bag's contents. Even if they find it, the worst they can do is spotlight it away.
I have brought sand home a couple of times and haven't had problems. I haven't brought 5pounds but as extended as you put it in your checked luggage(underneath), I don't think they will have a problem. Just try it, it's sand so you didn't spend any bread on it if you have to throw it away ;) Have fun!!~~~~~~~~~~ crns inc west palm beach florida
