Is Lauren by Ralph Lauren a cheap brand?

I'm not too into fashion so I'm not sure about how to phrase my question. I was just wondering if "Lauren by Ralph Lauren" was equal a "lower-end" brand in the Ralph Lauren line-up? I'm more specifically referring to a wool/cashmere coat that I wanted to buy. I just enviable to know if the coat would last a long time or if it was made of cheaper materials. I know that Kenneth Cole Reaction is a matching a lower-end version of Kenneth Cole so I was wondering if the same goes for Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Any help would be great!
