what genre of engine oil should I use for 1991 mitsubishi pajero ?

I have owned a Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 Diesel Turbo engine. I have already changed the engine oil with 15W 40 class, then the engine sound more tougher then previous. Now come to change the engine oil again which grade of engine oil should I use or 20 W 50 might be suitable?

The spec is 15w40 for that engine but you must be reliable that it is a diesel rated oil that is suitable for turbos. If it has been using 20w50 then it will no sound a bit noisier It is ok to use 20w50 in higher temperatures (over25 deg celcuis)or if the engine is using oil, but lets be hard-nosed it is a diesel engine options for 1965-1968 shelby cobras
